Finalists Chosen for AI for Climate Action Award 2025

Four finalists have been chosen for UN Climate Change’s AI for Climate Action Award 2025. This competition aims to recognize and promote open-source AI-driven solutions that directly address the challenges of climate change adaptation and mitigation in least developed countries (LDCs) and small island developing States (SIDS).
The finalists are:
- Team Alisa Luangrath — SAFIR: Smart AI-based Farming & Irrigation for Resilience
- Team Careen Joel — AI-Powered Climate Mobility Data Collection Tool: Mapping Migration Flows for Adaptation in Tanzania
- Team Hannah Rhodah — ClimateCrop AI: Smart Climate-Resilient Farming Assistant
- Team Tehila Mwenda — AgriDream: AI-Powered Agricultural Climate Resilience
This initiative is hosted by the UNFCCC TEC, the UNFCCC CTCN, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in collaboration with the Enterprise Neurosystem, which helped to promote the competition and participated in judging via Founder and Chairman Bill Wright.
The finalists will pitch their projects to a panel of judges on September 25, 2025.
The winner will be revealed at the UN’s AI for Climate Action Forum on October 9, 2025.
