An AI for Climate Action Award winner announcement card for Team Alisa Luangrath of Lao PDR.

Alisa Luangrath and her team from Lao People’s Democratic Republic have won this year’s AI for Climate Action Award, following live pitches by the finalists to an international panel of judges, including Enterprise Neurosystem Founder and Chairman Bill Wright.

Alisa’s open-source multilingual solution dubbed Smart AI-based Farming & Irrigation for Resilience (SAFIR) is transforming the way farmers in her country’s Southern province of Savannakhet adapt to water scarcity & climate variability.

Through this solution, Alisa and her team are helping smallholder farmers strengthen resilience, boost productivity, and protect vital water resources while empowering local communities & government planners.

See this previous blog post for more information on the finalists. The award is hosted by the UNFCCC TEC, the UNFCCC CTCN, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in collaboration with the Enterprise Neurosystem.
